GHANA, COTE D'IVOIRE: INEXPERIENCE VRS EXPERIENCE

Fellow Ghanaians,

It is oft-touted that experience gives you confidence and confidence gives you hope of a better tomorrow.

I must confess that, i was in the least surprise at the Stars defeat to the Elephants of Cote d'ivoire in the yesterday Angola 2010 match we played at Kapenda. The game exposed the fraility of our team to the storming weather of Didier Drogba, the fire hurling of Solomon Kalou and the wind blowing of Yaya Toure among others.

Ghana could boast of injured midfielder Michael Essien, Asamoah Gyan, and Aminu Dramani among other inexperienced players of our 'infant' Premier League.

My girl friend called me just after the game worried while i just laugh at her. The reason being that, there was no way the Elephants will risk this match and go home to join their impoverish masses with some dying of common curable diseases.

The magic behind the success of the Elephants was that, if we had scored them they will be packing their bagages home and that they never wanted to risk.

With our current standing, the match we have at hand between Burkina Faso will prove it worth if we are able to defeat the Burkinabes. Anything short of this, we are surely coming home.

Have we learnt any lesson for closely whooping fifty-three years since independence as a country and a burgeoning football country in the forseable future? Your guess is absolutely write.

We are toddlers still looking with poor spirit at our 'colonial masters' for handouts to the development of our rich sports industry. Talk of Brazil, Egypt and Spain etc.

The boys must be spared the cane of 'blame'.

If anyone deserves to be blamed, it is our 'fathers and mothers' in the sports council and the GFA.

Our arms are widely stretched to welcome the boys home after a long long defeat so that we can champion a common future for South Africa 2010.
